Threatened Miscarriage Treatment

In all cases of threatened miscarriage, it’s crucial medical assistance is sought as soon as possible. This information is NOT an alternative to medical treatment but may help once a medical assessment has been made. Please refer to miscarriage for complete information on the types of miscarriage.

Miscarriage happens for various reasons, and chromosomal issues are the leading cause. However, healthy pregnancies are also lost, and there are patterns to these losses that relate to the morefertile Personal Fertility Profiles (PFPs), but as a very general overview:

  1. Pregnancy is tiring, and once the later stages of the first trimester arrive, pre-existing low energy levels can become an issue for the crucial role of holding a fetus in the womb. Plus, emotional shocks can rapidly reduce energy and disrupt hormonal balance.
  2. Inflammation, infections and physical traumas can also cause miscarriage, plus recent research indicates an altered microbiome can significantly increase the risk of miscarriage.

These are all worth bearing in mind when considering how to manage the risk of miscarriage.

General signs and symptoms
